Why does my dog jump up suddenly when lying down?

 Your dog is most likely trying to get your attention. If you are not paying enough attention to it, it may jump up suddenly in order to get your attention. This is because dogs are dogs and they just want to be loved all the time. Dogs have a funny way of doing things. The dog’s whiskers help them to feel the air. When the dog is lying down, their whiskers should be touching the ground. If one of their whiskers touches something first, they will automatically jump up to check it out or to avoid it.
